How To Check 2023 WAEC Results Online

If you’re an O’Level student anxiously waiting to check your results online, we’ve got some bad news. WAEC (West African Examinations Council) has just announced that the results will be available at the council offices in Nigeria only, starting from June 19th, 2023. However, don’t let this dishearten you too much – we’ll show you exactly how to get your WAEC result next week at the comfort of your home without queuing outside any council office.

1. Log onto the WAEC result checking portal,  www.waecdirect.org

If you’re not sure how to find it, simply type WAEC Results Checker into your browser search bar. The official page will be on top of the results list. Click Enter to log in: Once you see a box pop up that says Please enter your username and password, go ahead and enter your details (username and password) in their respective fields. It’s important to note that these are case sensitive so make sure you don’t misspell anything. When done, click Log On. Wait for your result information to load: This may take some time depending on how many people are trying to access their result at once but it shouldn’t take more than a few minutes. When finished loading, click View My Result Information. You should now see your result information: Congratulations! You’ve successfully checked your 2023 WAEC result online. Just as a reminder, if you want to know what all those letters mean, here is an explanation of each letter grade. A = Excellent B = Very Good C = Good D = Pass E = Fail S = Absent W/O = With Out U/X = Unable to Verify Y/E = Youngest Entry
12th-grade students must pass English Language, Mathematics, Biology or Agric Science and three other subjects with credit level passes.
13th-grade students must pass English Language or Literature in English, Mathematics or Economics and two other subjects with credit level passes.

Certificates of candidates whose results have been fully processed and released will be ready within the next 90 days.

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) announced the release of results 45 days after it concluded its yearly exams for senior secondary school students in West Africa.The good news for this year’s candidates is that they would not need a scratch card to check their results.

The Result Checker PIN and Serial Number required by candidates to check their results online are contained on the Candidate’s Smart Identity Card used during the examination.

Below is a guide on how to check your WAEC result.

1. Log onto the WAEC result checking portal,  www.waecdirect.org

2. Key in your 10-digit WAEC Examination Number. The examination number includes the candidate’s 7-digit centre number as well as a 3-digit candidate number eg.1234567890

3. Key in your examination year eg. 2023

4. Select the type of examination. For this purpose, candidates are expected to click WAEC.

5. Key in the e-PIN Voucher Number

6. Key in the Personal Identification Number (PIN) on your e-PIN, and ensure the correct figures are keyed in.

7. Click the submit icon and wait for the results window to pop up.

Certificates of candidates whose results have been fully processed and released will be ready within the next 90 days, counting from November 23, 2023.

You don’t need to purchase any scratch card/pin to access your result. Candidates are to check the Smart Identity Card used during the conduct of the examination for their Result Checker PIN and Serial Number.

  1. Go to WAEC 2023 result checking portal at https://www.waecdirect.org.
  2. Enter your WAEC Examination Number in the required column.
  3. Select your Examination Year i.e. 2023.
  4. Select your Examination Type i.e. SCHOOL CANDIDATE RESULT.
  5. Enter the Card Serial Number.
  6. Enter the Card PIN.
  7. Finally, click the “Submit” button to get your 2023 WAEC Result.
