The Post-UTME exam is computer-based and lasts for 2 hours. It will comprise 100 multiple-choice questions with four options each. You are to choose one option that best answers the question. Some questions may require calculations, so you should bring a calculator along with you.

No materials like textbooks, handouts or writing materials are allowed into the exam hall. You will be provided with the computer and mouse needed to take the test. Rough work should be done on the question paper provided.

Each question carries one mark and there are no negative markings for wrong answers. It is in your best interest to attempt all questions to increase your chances of gaining admission. McIu Post-Utme Cut-Off Marks and Scoring System

To be eligible to participate in the McIu Post-UTME screening, candidates must have met the minimum admission requirements of five O’Level credits including English Language and Mathematics. As a first-time candidate, I had to ensure I obtained the minimum UTME score set by the school.

McIu Post-UTME Cut-Off Marks

The McIu Post-UTME cut-off mark varies from year to year, depending on several factors like the performance of candidates that year and available admission slots. For the 2021/2022 admission year, the cut-off mark was 180. Candidates who scored 180 and above in the UTME were eligible to sit for the McIu Post-UTME.

McIu Post-UTME Scoring System

The Post-UTME screening consists of a Computer Based Test (CBT) made up of objective questions from subjects like English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. For each correctly answered question, I received 3 marks. Wrong answers or unattempted questions attracted no marks.

To gain admission into McIu, an aggregate score of at least 200 was required from the UTME and Post-UTME scores. The Post-UTME contributed 50% to the aggregate score. For example, if a candidate scored 190 in UTME and 70 in Post-UTME, the aggregate score would be 190 + (70 x 0.5) = 190 + 35 = 225. This means the candidate is eligible for admission.

In conclusion, to maximize my chances of gaining admission into McIu, I had to, first of all, meet the minimum admission requirements. Then I worked to obtain a competitive UTME score above the cut-off mark. Finally, intensive preparation was required to also obtain a good Post-UTME score since it contributes significantly to the aggregate score used for admission. By following these steps, I was able to scale through the admission process successfully.

Conclusion

In conclusion, MCIU has provided extensive details on its post-UTME registration and eligibility criteria to guide prospective candidates. By visiting the official university website and portal, aspirants can find information on application fees, deadlines, required documents, and other key points to prepare for and successfully complete the post-UTME screening. For eligible candidates that meet the minimum cut-off mark, the post-UTME screening is the next important step towards gaining admission into MCIU.
